Book protagonist Nicolette “Niki” Stringer is someone anyone can relate to. She’s honest, genuine, and has all of the typical insecurities that come across all of us from time to time.
She falls for the badboy: the mysterious Holt Maddox (any relation to Travis Maddox by the way?) and then for three years he disappears with no trace, taking Niki’s fragile heart with him.
What happened? Why did he leave? And over all, why is he back?
With her wondering questions filling at her subconscious, will she let him in again and continue on with their tumultuous love affair? Will he take off without word once again?
Well... one thing’s for sure: not everything is what they seem to be!
What secrets could he possibly be withholding from her for his return? Does he have exterior motives or a hidden agenda?
And most importantly, will Niki succumb to ultimate heartbreak once again? Read and you will find out!
#A lovely book that sparked a love-hate relationship with Holt for me!! I felt so bad for Niki since she was so innocent, naïve, and hopeful!! She basically embodied a lot of us women hung out on “that one” special person that we've been pinning for and then gets the ride of her life because of him!! I can’t wait for more from this series and am dying for book two!! I just am questioning though if it’s going to be a two part installment or trilogy like most? Hmmm… Great job, Ms. Hayut!! I will definitely be vying for what happens next!!

☆✮ About the Author ✮☆
As I hit high school I joined the school newspaper and wrote all kinds of crazy quirky articles. This is where my love of poetry came to life too as I joined the literary magazine and dived into all things Edgar Allan Poe. Dark right? I would have dated him. Heck yeah. That man had soul.
I began reading and reading and reading. I remember stealing my sister's Harlequin's. I'd pretend I hated them but secretly loved them. Somewhere around this time my dream to become a published author was born. I wrote my first what would be considered now a young adult romance. It's hidden somewhere in the attic. Maybe one day I'll dig it out.
So what can I say about my writing? I am influenced greatly by music. Just about every genre. I have a thing for cars too. My Dad loved cars and it seems it carried over to me in my writing. Tattooed men driving fast cars? Yeah that gets my attention. Add an alpha male to that mix and I'm swooning.
With the publication of my first novel Shifting Gears, my dream has been set to motion and I hope to continue bringing more stories to life. Like I have a choice really. All I need is a disco ball in my head. It's like a party in there.
Fun Facts:
My “The Rox” was inspired by a local landmark and music venue The Norva. I spend a lot of time here as I love music and love hearing new sounds. It is very much as I describe The Rox and the “real” boys of Galaxy Dynamite have played there many times. You won't find a Gavin though nor will it be sounds of rock that come from their instruments. They along with my nephew (who I'm very proud of and who was equally stoked that I put his band in the book) who is the drummer play more psychadelic trance style music.

I took a poll from my coworkers when deciding on names for my characters...Holt was not a favorite...

The inspiration for Holt came from a longtime friend who really was a bounty hunter, and really drove a 67 Buick Special (that car was sweeet and could fly) and every woman to him is “sweets.”
