eARC BOOK REVIEW...Wethering The Storm (The Storm #2) by Samantha Towle

Title:  Wethering The Storm (The Storm #2)
Author: Samantha Towle
Publication Date: August 20th 2013 by Montlake Romance
Plot: Music journalist Tru Bennett has done the impossible: capture the heart of rock-star bad boy Jake Wethers. Now they’re busy planning a wedding and navigating their new life together in the US. Of course Tru misses London and her best friend, Simone, but living happily ever after with Jake in LA is going to be great…right?

Wrong. Even the bright California sun can’t whitewash the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake’s wild past are lurking around every corner. Making matters worse, Jake announces he doesn’t want kids, which just may be a deal breaker.

Tru loves Jake more than anything. But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything they’ve fought for, the couple must face the hard truth: What if, this time, love is not enough?

 My Review

☆ I received an ARC via Montlake Romance in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!! ☆

"You will always be mine, Tru. Always." *Melts. Jake Wethers how I love you!! So devoted to Tru. :)
"Wethering the Storm" really surpassed my expectations.  I was a little worried since I had really enjoyed "The Mighty Storm" so I was a bit paranoid that the sequel would not measure up.  Thankfully it did.

Samantha Towle definitely has a gift of intriguing readers and keeping them engaged with the plot and characters.  I was literally hanging on every word and salivating over Jake because of his alpha male sexiness.  He was so understanding and patient (well, for the most part) toward Tru and was always trying to keep things together.  I wish I could meet my own Jake.

As for Tru, since I raved so much about Jake, I liked her insecurities, doubts, and all.  It's plausible and understandable.  What do you expect from a girl in her shoes?

So whereas, "The Mighty Storm" was all about Jake and Tru coming together, "Wethering the Storm" is all about the tests the waters may bring and keeping their relationship strong and love cohesive.

In many areas, the couple struggles through many of the typical topics that many of us in relationships deal with so it was quite refreshing and easy to relate to.  The only difference, if any, is that Jake's a sexy rock star with temptation and troublesome groupies in tow.

Over all though, what it came down to for me was communication.  Jake and Tru weren't always on the same page as one another and needed to be more open with one another.  Tru needed to be more vocal about her insecurities and Jake needed to be more affront with his as well as topics regarding his and Tru's future.

But in the end, I was VERY PLEASED with the entire outcome of the story.  It was definitely worth waiting for and made me squirm with happiness and excitement.  So happy with the turn out of it. :D

"I can't promise that I won't f*ck up again, Tru.  I've tried and failed so many times.  Just know that no matter what, I want you very much...I will always want you."
